POSITION: VP of Upgrade/S
LOCATION: Remote Office, US
SUMMARY: Infor is launching a new business unit called Upgrade/S (the S is for speed). The VP of Upgrade/S will report to the CEO. The mission of Upgrade/S is to accelerate upgrades in our customer’s base using the cloud as a transition service or destination. We’ve introduced exciting new technology but our customers need help making a cost effective journey from older releases to the future. They have years of customizations and limited budgets so we must lower the risk and improve the total cost of upgrades through a combination of tools, scripts, cloud, services, and business logic
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Offshore SWAT team for structured analysis of customization
- Create formula for communicating cost of supporting customization versus the upgrade
- Triage customizations with customers using live instance in cloud
- Coordinate with development to productize customizations where appropriate with funded development
- Fast deploy of cloud VM back on premise
- Upgrade tools to include direct upgrade to cloud from on premise instance
- Leverage LN work for zero downtime upgrades where possible
- Coordinate with license, consulting, and support to identify customers who are candidates to upgrade
- Build virtualization to capitalize on hybrid cloud capabilities so customers can move virtual images between cloud and on premise with ease and deploy hybrid environments
- Assess which customer modifications related to industry Customizations, Localizations, Integrations, Reports, and Taxation (CLIRTs) can be moved to the cloud on upgrades.
- Document upgrade best practices and references
- Create upgrade messaging and value props for marketing and BDR outreach
- Work with license organization on how to identify add on sales on the upgrade and retire third party products
- Create a SaaS on premise model for upgrades going forward
- Identify third party integrators to create an extended team to build scale and load balance some of the assessment work
