Position: Intermediate Infrastructure Consultant
Location: Toronto Office (Don Mills)
SUMMARY:
As an intermediate Infrastructure Consultant you will have a wide range of responsibilities focused on providing technical solutions to meet the needs of our clients. You will be a part of a team of professionals that play a key role in implementing solutions and delivering results.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Engage with the client(s) to understand application infrastructure requirements
- Prepare and document system architecture to be able to support highly available, scalable and secured system
- Perform Capacity Planning activities
- Perform system installations (including installation of database, application server, web server, etc)
- Consult client(s) to troubleshoot issues related to the system infrastructure
- Support Infor’s Application Hosting team to support client’s production environments
- Participate in on-call rotation for production support
- Develop UNIX Shell scripts for application deployment and other activities
Required Skills:
- 3+ years IT experience and exposure to managing production environments
- Degree/diploma in Computer Science, Engineering and/or Mathematics or related fields
- Minimum 2 years of experience with database technologies like Oracle, SQL Server or DB2
- 3 years of experience with one or more of the Application Servers (Oracle WebLogic, Oracle Application Server, IBM WebSphere, JBoss)
- 3 years of experience with UNIX (any flavors)
- Experience with client-based enterprise implementations and n-tier web application architecture
- Understanding of basic database concepts: normalization, constraints, indexes, triggers, and basic syntax
- Ability to analyze problems and provide innovative solutions
- Excellent Oral and Written Communication
- Adjust to changes in priorities and manage time effectively
- Take initiative to achieve value-added results, within scope of responsibility
- Ability to work on-call to support major production related issues
- Ability to travel about 25% of the time for client engagements
