Description of the Role

 

As a pre-sales consultant your role will be to support the direct sales teams and Infor partners in presenting/training/demonstrating Infor’s product suite to senior managers/directors of major blue chip companies.  These demonstrations may be standard or bespoke nature and you will be expected to fully participate in the preparation/delivery of such presentations.  The demonstrations will also include “workshops” where the software will be demonstrated by building part of the customer’s real application “in camera” and, as such, you will be expected to know the products you work with in considerable detail.  You will present to customers of mixed technical ability (IT/Finance) demonstrating the business benefit to be derived by choosing Infor.

 

The role will also included preparation responses to technical tender documents, attending/presenting at trade shows, presentations at marketing seminars, training and supporting Infor partners and other activities to support sales generation.

Travel

 

The PM team cover UK, Ireland, Nordics, non German speaking Europe, Middle East and Africa.  You can expect that about 60% of your time will be spent in Southern England, the balance covering the rest of the UK and EMEA.     Due to the nature of our work you may be expected to travel at very short notice and must hold a current EC passport. 

 

Personal qualities

Education

 

You should be part qualified accountant with CIMA or another professional body.  It is also anticipated that the individual will have completed a degree course in a business/finance/economics/IT or related area. 

 

Experience

 

Experience is a Pre-Sales/Implementation services role, preferably within a similar company, would be very beneficial. Ideally your experience will include preparation of consolidated statutory and management reporting, budgeting and forecasting but experience with Business Intelligence tools is also desirable. Your experience may well have been gained in a “systems accounting” role where responsibility would have been maintaining/building systems in support of the activities above. You will have at least 3 years experience within a finance department or pre-sales function. 

 

Computer Skills

 

You should be proficient in the use of a personal computer, within a networked environment, and will be expected to be proficient in:-

 

            Microsoft Windows 2003/2008/XP/Windows 7

            Microsoft Excel  (strong skills expected)

            Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Powerpoint, Access)

 

In addition experience at an “administrator” level in the use of any or all of the following would be an advantage:-

 

            Infor/Extensity/Geac/Comshare/MIS products (InforPM/MPC/Decision/FDC/

Decisonware/MiS Alea)

            Financial Modelling software

Oracle 10/11 RDMS

            Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008 (including analysis services)

            Oracle Hyperion HFM/Planning/Essbase

SAP BPC/Cartesis/Business Objects

IBM Cognos 9/10 (Planning/Contributor) or Controller(formerly Frango)

           

Other Skills

 

Experience in public speaking/presentations would be an advantage
