Basic Purpose
Performs complex testing tasks requiring planning, scheduling, and testing to assure that developed products meet design specifications and are within total quality management limits and standards. Communicates with product developers and technical support specialists on product issues. Operates under minimal supervision. Usually reports to the Quality Assurance/Testing Manager. Typically requires six to nine years of experience in development, research, or product testing
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
50% Performs complex testing and leadership tasks on complex projects:
* Plans, schedules and implements testing projects.
* Defines test objectives.
* Writes test cases.
* Assists other analysts with approach and technical issues.
* Performs complex functional, application, regression and performance tests.
20% Assists product developers and technical product support specialists in solution of complex installation problems.
20% Plans and implements automated testing.
10% Researches and develops an understanding of the marketing requirements for the product, including how the product is actually used and what its performance requirements are.
Essential Education, Skills, and Environment
Education and Work Experience
Bachelor's degree, typically requires six to nine years of experience in development, research or product testing.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills
Excellent understanding of product. Proficient in testing products according to company's QA process; able to train other analysts in procedures. Understands entire development process, including design, programming and documentation. Familiar with relevant business issues as they impact overall project plans. Excellent communication skills.
