POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Senior Technical Consultant you will have a wide range of responsibilities focused on providing technical solutions to meet the needs of our clients.  You will be a part of a team of professionals that play a key role in implementing solutions and delivering results. Skilled at providing detailed technical assessments and the ability to provide resolution to complex issues, the Senior Technical Consultant will be required to mentor and guide others in all aspects of the implementation lifecycle placing specific emphasis on the technical solution design.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Implementation Skills

1.  Participates in the full lifecycle of a client implementation such as Requirements Gathering, Business Analysis, System Configuration, Design, Testing, and Support, ensuring compliance with Infor’s OPIM methodology.  Interact directly with the client to interpret and analyze business requirements to identify risks and design appropriate solutions.


Collaborates with the Senior Functional Consultant to write the design specifications.
May lead small work teams on engagements, planning, organizing and validating the work of other team members.  Provides guidance, assistance, and training opportunities to team members and customer staff. 

 

Using a high-degree of insight and analytical skill recommends alternatives solutions and on-going risk assessments.  Anticipates changes required in project plans and processes and recommends alternative approaches to the Project Manager.  Develops solutions that extend the core Workbrain application to implement client-specific interfaces, workflows, pay rules, payroll exports, and reports. 

 

Develops a detailed understanding of the capabilities and limitations of the Workbrain application, architecture, database schema, and development tools to properly and creatively use features to meet client needs.  Provides guidance for business decisions from a technical perspective on issues such as: performance, scalability, reliability, and security.

 

Mentors Consultants by providing direction on how to navigate through Workbrain’s work environment.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

 

Education & Experience

·         Minimum 5 years of experience with business application development and/or IT Consulting.

·         Minimum 3 years of project related experience with exposure to all phases of software development including: Analysis and Design, Implementation, Testing and Deployment.

·         Knowledge of Human Capital Management solutions.

·         Degree/diploma in Computer Science, Engineering and/or Mathematics.

·         2+ years experience with Java-based technologies: J2SE, J2EE, JSP, JDBC.

·         2+ years experience with database technologies: Oracle, SQL Server, DB2.

·         2+ years experience with application servers: BEA Weblogic, Oracle 9iAS, IBM WebSphere.

·         Experienced in leading teams and providing mentorship/guidance to others through a full implementation lifecycle.

·         Able to work with minimal direction.

·         Possesses the technical skill and knowledge to seek and share appropriate information with clients and co-workers providing fact-based, constructive feedback.

·         Develops solutions that contemplate potential impacts on client business objectives.

·         Experience with client-based enterprise implementations and n-tier web application architecture.

·         Deep understanding of database concepts: normalization, constraints, indexes, triggers, and basic syntax.

·         Ability to grasp concepts quickly and learn predefined methods for extending the Workbrain application functions and customizing the environment to meet specific client needs.

·         Ability to analyze complex implementation issues and provide innovative solutions.

·         Proven background in writing requirements and design specifications.

 

 

Technical Knowledge & Skills

·         Knowledge of Workbrain products and tools and ability to apply a variety of Workbrain techniques, methods, processes, and practices to varied work assignments.

·         Writes documentation in a clear and concise manner.

·         Adjusts to changes in priorities and manages time effectively.

·         Takes initiative to achieve value-added results, within scope of responsibility.

·         Develops solutions that consider the impact on other aspects of the project.

 

 

Customer & Industry Knowledge

·         Ability to provide a positive impression of Workbrain by exceeding customer expectations.

·         Develops knowledge of client systems, architecture, processes and business verticals.

 

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

 

Travel Requirements:

·         Field Consultants – In most cases, travel not to exceed 90%, throughout EMEA, by various conveyances, e.g., air, rail, car.

 

Travel is to the assigned client location each and every week.  Client assignments might be changed due to hardware availability within days of travel demanding personal travel impacts (flight rescheduling, expense complications, etc.).  As such, individual must have strong personal financial and time management capabilities.
